Jack and the Beanstalk

It's been hard getting to work on this as my little boy keeps coming down with bugs, which keeps me busy playing lego, but doesn't let me get near my desk.  Bring on Spring!  Anyway, I've done a little more today...

I want to do a few more pictures with boys in them, so have started to work on Jack and the beanstalk.

getting there, slowly

It's been hard getting back into my flow after Christmas. Everything I have done has looked rubbish! But slowly, slowly I think I'm getting somewhere again. Here's the Hansel and Gretel I've been working on.

I'm trying to work out how I can illustrate the woods Hansel and Gretel are walking through, and rather like a teeny tiny sketch I did.

New Year

I'm trying to make a conscious effort to keep the drawings loose and sketchy looking, as I seem to naturally overwork stuff. I'm not there yet but am getting somewhere, I think!


Right, it's the New Year and Jimmy's first day back at nursery, so I'm ready to go and bursting with ideas of things I want to do. First on the list is to continue with my fairy tale illustrations. Here is a start on Hansel and Gretel, just as they spot that yummy looking gingerbread house!

Gingerbread House

My son had chicken pox before Christmas, so to take his mind off the itching we made this. It's now January, and it doesn't exist anymore of course, having been mainly consumed by Jimmy and his friends!
